Celebrating the life of
Latane Lanier Schuller
May 05, 1916 - July 16, 2016
Latane went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Latane celebrated her 100th birthday on May 5, 2016. She was born in Statesboro, GA, the daughter of the late Henry and Kate Lanier and sister of the late Catherine Lanier Hagan. She attended Statesboro schools and Georgia Southern College. Latane married Albert Frederick Schuller of Youngstown, OH in July 1943 and after the war settled in Savannah to raise her family. Latane and Al were married 59 years before his passing in 2003. An active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1947, she participated in the Wayfarer’s Club and Circle #3. She also graced the German Friendly Society, Republican Women’s Club and Garden Club of Kensington Park with her time and talents. Latane particularly enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was devoted to her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her son Robert Martin Schuller (1982). Survivors include two sons and a daughter -- A. Frederick (Karen) Schuller, Jr. of Watkinsville, GA; Richard H. (Donna) Schuller of Boca Raton, FL; and Kathrina S. (Edwin) Robb of Savannah, GA; Grandchildren -- Amy E. Schuller; Lauren S. (James) Hamrick; David C. (Cara) Robb; Charles S. (Yumi) Robb; Michael A. (Sara) Robb; Maria Schuller; and Great-grandchildren -- Halle Ruth Hamrick; Gaines, Crawford and Celia Jane Robb. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Elizabeth Schuller Stevens of Lebanon, OH; nephews Paul Orend of Youngstown, OH, Tommy (Pat) Hagan and Danny (Jane) Hagan both of Statesboro, GA. We are thankful for her caregivers, Sabrina Evans and Renee Burton. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Savannah at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any remembrances be directed to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 W. 31st Street, Savannah, GA 31401. We will all miss her dearly.
My condolences to the Schuller Family on the passing of your loved one. MAY Jehovah God grant you his peace while you await the fulfillment of his promise at John 5:28 [ toresurrect those who have been asleep in death]. I was sad to read of Mrs Schuler's death this morning . We spoke together often in the past 18 months since we met especially outside as we both loved to be out in the fresh air She was unfailingly kind and pleasant and it was an honor to have known her.
